Building ecosystems of societal implementation

Shizenkan is committed build ecosystems in collaboration with a diverse range of partners—educational institutions, businesses, non-profit organizations, and government agencies—both in Japan and globally. We seek to explore new forms of society, management, and organizations, and aim to create social impact not only by disseminating our research findings but also by developing leaders who work toward implementation and supporting organizations in this endeavor.

Our research centers and projects play a pivotal role in this endeavor. Along with ISL, we establish centers and projects in the following key areas: Business and Society/Planet, Innovation and Humanity, East and West, and Leadership. 

Research Centers

Business and Society/Planet 

Center on Impact Economy offers a platform for consolidating, visualizing, and exploring the essence of the impact economy as a new form of capitalism, while fostering a sense of shared purpose among the next generation of players within its ecosystem.  (Visit the center’s page)

Circular Futures Design Center develops leaders who in the field of circular economy—a transformative approach to reimagining the foundations of our economy and society—and accelerates real-world implementation of new business/economic/societal models. (Visit the center’s page)

Innovation and Humanity 

Center for AI and Human Existence explores the impact of rapidly advancing AI on human society through the lens of the liberal arts, while creating a platform for dialogue among leaders who are shaping the frontiers of this transformative field.

East and West

Liberal Arts Center provides a space where current and future leaders explore the essence of humanity and the its future through the lens of the liberal arts. (Visit the center’s page)

Pan-Asian Business School Network aims to examine Asian business, management, and leadership practices that are rooted in the region’s unique societal traditions, working with our partner business schools in Asia.

Leadership

ISL-Shizenkan Management Innovation Center develops innovative educational programs that cultivate leaders who embody social consciousness and humanity, empowering them to drive transformative change and innovation toward a more sustainable and equitable future.
