For the opening session on January 31 we will welcome Paul Polman, the most admired CEO of the 21st century.　

Paul Polman, former CEO of Unilever and one of the world’s most respected sustainable leaders, will be our guest speaker for the January 31 session. Paul is a core supporter of the FoC Project, an outstanding, passionate business leader with a great personality. We hope you will use a chance to listen to him in person.

Johan Rockström, a prominent environmentalist and advocate of the planetary boundaries concept from Sweden, will be joining Paul in this session.

In session on March 7, Professor Kohei Saito will participate from Japan. 

Professor Kohei Saito of the University of Tokyo, an up-and-coming Japanese philosopher draws inspiration from late Marxist thought and advocates de-growth. His book Capital in the Anthropocene became a bestseller in Japan, and his interpretation of the Marxist theory has been translated into Spanish and English, influencing discourse around the world. 

We look forward to the debates of Prof. Saito, who claims that the SDGs are “the new opium of the masses,” and his global opponents.

On April 11, a well-known Harvard Business School professor will take the podium. 

Professor Rebecca Henderson, who created the course Reimagining Capitalism at Harvard Business School, and proposed in her book of the same title that purpose-driven companies will create a new future, will be the guest speaker at the April 11 session.

Joining us in this session are Raj Sisodia, co-author of Conscious Capitalism and now Chairman of the Conscious Enterprise Center at Mexico’s leading technical university, Tecnológico de Monterrey, and Jay Coen Gilbert, who created the B Corp certification system.

In session on April 18 we will straightforwardly address the Integrated Value-Based Management.

John Elkington’s concept of the triple bottom line swayed corporate accounting and created the subsequent trend in non-financial statement disclosure. He will join this session together with Pavan Sukhdev, who presented a framework for integrated management in his book Corporation 2020 more than a decade ago.

Pavan is a former President of WWF International and Founder and CEO of GIST Impact. Although not widely known, Corporation 2020 rethinks what value creation means for companies as they shift from a shareholder economy to a stakeholder economy, and also confronts the negative externalities that companies have.

The facilitator is Professor Lawrence Loh, who teaches corporate and governance theory at the National University of Singapore.
