Tokyo, March 19, 2024 – Shizenkan University (Shizenkan) is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), a renowned institution located in Pulau Pinang, Malaysia. This strategic partnership marks an expansion of the successful collaboration between the two universities in the “Future of Capitalism” program over the past several years.
The MoU signing ceremony, held on March 19th, brought together representatives from both universities to formalize the agreement. Shizenkan was represented by President Dr. Tomoyoshi Noda and Vice President Dr. Katsuhiko Yoshikawa, and hosted the USM delegation consisting of Associate Professor Dr. Fathyah Hashim (Dean of the Graduate School of Business), Ms. Nur Mariyam Musa (Deputy Registrar), and Dr. Jeffrey S.S. Cheah (MBA Program Manager, Graduate School of Business).
Building on the successful collaboration in the “Future of Capitalism” program, Shizenkan and USM are committed to furthering partnership to promote academic exchange and collaborative research initiatives.
The MoU outlines plans for joint research projects, faculty and student exchange programs, and other initiatives to enhance academic collaboration between the two institutions.
As Shizenkan and USM embark on this next phase of partnership, the two institutions remain committed to advancing knowledge, fostering global citizenship, and preparing students to meet the challenges of the 21st century.

The “Future of Capitalism” is a new global leadership education program led by IESE Business School (Spain) and Shizenkan University (Japan), in collaboration with 15 business and policy schools on five continents. It is designed to be a catalyst for personal thought and commitment as well as a network building opportunity. The educational journey is based around a sharing of experiences and reflections with top executives, entrepreneurs, policymakers, activists, and academics of various backgrounds.
