The “Future of Capitalism” course invites participants to explore how the role of business is being redefined amid rapid social and environmental transformation. Through interactive discussions with internationally renowned thinkers, the program examines the urgent questions facing capitalism today—its limitations, its evolving expectations, and the innovative approaches reshaping responsible leadership. From purpose-led management to the relationship between business and planetary well-being, the course encourages participants to consider new models that move beyond traditional paradigms.
This year’s program will feature dialogues with globally influential voices, including Paul Polman (Former CEO of Unilever), John Elkington (pioneer of the sustainability movement), and Roman Krznaric (author of The Good Ancestor). Each session delves into essential themes such as corporate governance, ESG, human rights, and the future of management education. Participants will be challenged to reflect on their responsibilities as leaders and envision how organizations can thrive while contributing positively to society and the planet.
By the end of the course, participants will gain fresh perspectives, practical tools, and a renewed sense of purpose to help shape a more sustainable and inclusive future for business.
Launched in 2021 by IESE Business School (Spain) and Shizenkan University (Japan), the Future of Capitalism (FoC) Project has grown into a global initiative dedicated to reimagining capitalism for the 21st century. The inaugural program—developed with Fundação Getulio Vargas (Brazil) and the School of Inspired Leadership (India)—has since expanded into a consortium of more than 20 leading institutions, including Saïd Business School, University of Oxford (UK); Seoul National University (South Korea); National University of Singapore; and IPADE Business School (Mexico).
For 2026, the program is opening general enrollment to MBA/EMBA students and recent graduates from any institution. Participants will study alongside MBA cohorts from 20+ partner schools worldwide and, upon meeting requirements, will receive a certificate of completion.
