The Kanda Festival, one of the big 3 Tokyo festivals returns after a 4 year absence!
This year, Shizenkan joined the main parade once again with the float named after a well-known folk tale “Hanasaka Jiisan (The old man who made the dead trees blossom)”.
Shizenkan students, some in traditional costumes representing their home country, paraded through the Nihonbashi area making their way to the Kanda shrine whilst greeting thousands of spectators lined along the streets.
Such events are a great demonstration of the “glocal” (global+local) spirit of our school, a global university deeply rooted in the local community. The Kanda Festival is held on odd-numbered years only and we hope to be a part of it again in 2025.
